Recently it was found that some of the units of Google Pixel XL which were delivered with a distorted sound output. A user tested around five units and all of them were found to output flat audio, while the output from the Nexus 6 was better. Now, the same user, going by the name Mark Buckman, has suggested a possible workaround for the Pixel XL’s audio issue. It requires users to root the device and flash a custom ROM. According to Buckman, unlocking the bootloader, installing TWRP recovery image and then flashing WETA audio solves the problem. The above mentioned user has also posted a video on YouTube, showing how the fix works. It has also been mentioned that by using this solution, users will lose the device’s warranty.
