«Although the attack happened on the eve of the visit of Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey in Moscow for talks with Russian and Iranian colleagues, I think that a direct connection between these two events there. It is unlikely that terrorist who shot the Ambassador to Charles, even knew about this meeting… Rather, it is revenge for Aleppo, the liberation of which Russia is known to have provided maximum support to the troops of Bashar al-Assad. Turkey had already held protests against Russia’s actions, however, they were not of a radical nature, but now, apparently, there was a shift to terrorist actions…
At the same time, the Islamists are pretty disappointed with the position of Erdogan, who is going to negotiate with Russia and Iran on the settlement in Syria. There is information that Russia and Turkey agreed on a compromise, and those people, who are behind the criminal, obviously want to disrupt. For them, a peaceful settlement is unacceptable.»
